Saint Hilaire funicular

Closed until 2024.

This funicular is more than 90 years old and ascends 750 meters on the steep mountain of chartreuse. It will take you from the valley to the Plateau des Petites roches. You will be amazed by the view of the valley and Belledonne mountain range. Arriving in saint Hilaire you can visit the "Laboratoire d'Icare" but also see the mechanism of the functionning funicular. During your ride up (or down) with the funicular you can also listen to an audio guide explaining the History of the funicular and above all why it has been built in the first place. This is a tour you must not miss on your visit to Grésivaudan.
