Description

This green route is ideal for discovering mountain biking on flat, easy terrain. In a pleasant setting along the Herretang canal, with the possibility of a cultural break at the Tuilerie.
When mountain biking, you share the natural space with other users and navigate through sometimes fragile environments. Please be courteous and respect nature! The mountain biker's code aims to promote a mindset and practice that should become habitual. Please follow these rules: - Use marked trails for your safety and follow the designated directions. - Do not overestimate your abilities and maintain control of your speed. - Be cautious and courteous when passing or crossing hikers, as pedestrians have the right of way. - Check the condition of your bike and bring supplies and repair tools. - If riding alone, inform someone of your route. - Wear a helmet. - Respect private property and cultivated areas. - Be cautious around agricultural and forestry machinery. - Close gates behind you. - Avoid picking wildflowers, fruits, and mushrooms. - Do not disturb the tranquility of wildlife. - Keep your trash with you, be discreet, and respect the environment. Make sure you have adequate insurance; consider the FFC Pass’Loisir. Drinking water and restrooms are available near the starting point at the football field.

Start at the Plan d’eau de Saint-Joseph-de-Rivière and head towards the ponds. When you reach the middle of the first pond, turn right onto the paved "chemin de la tournerie." After a few meters, turn left to reach the stadium, where a water point is available. Exit the stadium through the green gate, then take two consecutive right turns to join the "Via Chartreuse" greenway. Follow this path for 1 kilometer until you intersect with "route de la Tuilerie." At this point, you can choose to turn left for a short round trip to explore the Tuilerie area or continue straight ahead along the route. After approximately 500 meters, a bridge on your right will allow you to cross to the opposite bank and begin your return journey. Upon reaching the intersection with the "route de la Tuilerie" again, turn left onto the road. After the washhouse, take the school road to the right, then turn right again after the bridge onto the "chemin de la tournerie." Follow the path in the opposite direction to return to the ponds.
