  • In the Entremonts valley, the Cozon River, as beautiful as it is refreshing, meanders gently among the rocks. Along the trail, which also allows you to discover charming hamlets, will you be able to find the sculpted potholes?

  • Starting from Saint Pierre d'Entremont, which translates to "between the mountains," your journey will lead you to explore the numerous hamlets along the Cozon River.

The river offers both freshness and mystery, as its bed is occasionally concealed beneath rocks and moss, lending the water its distinctive hue.

A discerning eye may spot the ruins of the ancient Teppaz castle on the right, overlooking the Pont du Lac hamlet, which you traverse to reach Les Courriers hamlet.

But the surprises are just beginning! The wooden footbridge at La Chivolande provides a direct view of the Cozon waterfall: as beautiful as it is mesmerizing, it forms a deep cauldron sculpted by erosion, creating an enchanting and refreshing spot.

The trail then winds through a chaos of boulders, whose rounded shapes may evoke certain human and animal silhouettes.

1/ From St-Pierre-d'Entremont Savoie (town hall parking lot), cross the bridge over the Cozon and turn right towards La Fracette, on the small road (yellow markings).
2/ At the hamlet of La Fracette, take the road to the left as far as the “Le Crêt 730 m” sign, and continue towards the hamlet of Les Courriers along a forest path. At the hamlet of Les Courriers, follow the yellow and red signs and turn left towards the Derbetemps bridge. It's a pleasant climb through the woods, with lovely views of Saint-Pierre-d'Entremont, Entremont-le-Vieux and the Chartreuse mountains.
Take the path that turns right just before the Derbetemps bridge towards St-Pierre-d'Entremont and Les Teppaz, and runs alongside the pretty Cozon river.
3/ Follow the yellow markings. Cross the Chivolande footbridge and admire the Cozon waterfall.
Continue along the Cozon and Illétaz meadows, crossing the road (take care!). On the right, observe the magnificent potholes sculpted by the Cozon (again, take care!) until you reach the main road. 4/ Just before the bridge, take the path that climbs to the left, through the forest, to the hamlet of Les Teppaz. Cross the hamlet and at the “Les Teppaz 830 m” sign, turn right towards La Combe (yellow markings). 5/ At the “La Combe 760 m” sign, continue towards Saint-Pierre-d'Entremont on the Chemin des Mules (red and yellow markings).
