"Le sentier du Cozon" walk

  • A nice hike through the hamlets of the Entremonts’ valley, across the forest and along the Cozon river.

  • (1) From St-Pierre-d’Entremont Savoie (city hall car park), cross the bridge of the Cozon river and turn right to Épernay, La Fracette (yellow signs).
    (2) Leave behind you the hamlet of La Fracette and, when you get to the sign ‘‘Le Crêt 730 m’’, head for Les Courriers. You will leave the road for a small path in the forest. At the hamlet Les Courriers, follow the yellow and red signs and take left to the bridge of Derbetemps. An easy way up through the wood leads you to a nice point of...
    (1) From St-Pierre-d’Entremont Savoie (city hall car park), cross the bridge of the Cozon river and turn right to Épernay, La Fracette (yellow signs).
    (2) Leave behind you the hamlet of La Fracette and, when you get to the sign ‘‘Le Crêt 730 m’’, head for Les Courriers. You will leave the road for a small path in the forest. At the hamlet Les Courriers, follow the yellow and red signs and take left to the bridge of Derbetemps. An easy way up through the wood leads you to a nice point of view over St-Pierre-d’Entremont, Entremont-le-Vieux and the Chartreuse mountains. Take the path on the right just before the bridge of Derbetemps towards St-Pierre-d’Entremont and Les Teppaz. It goes along the pretty Cozon river.
    (3) Follow the yellow signs. Cross the footbridge of Chivolande and enjoy the Cozon’s waterfall. Keep going along the Cozon and the Pré Illétaz and cross the road. On your right, you can see beautiful kettles forged by the Cozon river (be careful).
    (4) Just before the bridge, take the path on the left, going up in the woods to the hamlet of Les Teppaz. Cross the hamlet and at the sign ‘‘Teppaz 830 m’’, turn right towards St-Pierre-d’Entremont and Les Combes (yellow and red signs). At the sign ‘‘La Combe 760 m’’ keep following St-Pierre-d’Entremont and Le chemin des Mules. In St-Pierre-d’Entremont take right to go back to the car park.
