The gîte is eco-designed, with wood-frame construction, wood-fiber insulation, stone tiling, thermodynamic water heating and photovoltaic panels. Waste is sorted and a composter is available in the garden. All in all, our house produces more energy than it consumes, and this is something we feel very strongly about.
A 100% organic swimming pool
Even the swimming pool is entirely organic, treated with a (harmless) bacterial culture and UV, and the water comes from a spring close to the house. There's no plastic liner here. The bottom of the pool is made of natural rubber, which doesn't detract from bathing comfort - quite the contrary!
