Boucle "Du village au Musée Arcabas"

(1) From the Tourist Office, place de la Mairie, turn left onto the 4 paths path which passes behind the fountain between the 2 buildings. The path takes you along the main road to La Diat. Cross the crossroads and follow the road towards St Laurent de Pont, then turn left (50m) to the picnic area. Cross the Herbetan footbridge, turn left and follow the path through the willows to the footbridge where you must turn right onto a winding path that climbs into the forest (yellow/red markings). Enter the meadow and follow it on the right for 200 m until you discover Chamechaude (highest point of the Chartreuse) and the St Hugues valley. Leave the meadow on the right by taking the passage in the fence (red yellow markings). Follow the path to the Hameau de Martinière. (3) Take the road on the left which crosses it and observe the Cartusian architecture: stone houses, barns, stables, pond, bread oven. Admire also the sculpture of a Peruvian artist at the side of the road and the slabs of the Charmant Som which dominate you on the right. At the end of the hamlet, cross the road again and go down towards the Ravelle bridge. Leave the footbridge on the right and cross the bridge to go up to the Flin plateau. At the entrance to the meadow, join the path 20 m higher up which skirts the forest on the left towards the cemetery. Remember to respect the meadows and pastures by staying on the path. Go along the cemetery on the right and join the road that takes you to the Museum of Contemporary Sacred Art (4). (20 m on the right).

Return by the same route or by the communal road (direction Col du Coq until the cross of Marchandière (5) then direction Mollard Bellet and St Pierre de Chartreuse following the road. Duration: about 1h45
