Description
L'âme de La Fure. The alliance of cutlery and leather goods in Isère.
Between Lyon and Grenoble, in the heart of the Fure valley in Isère, two craftsmen have decided to revive a forgotten heritage in this corner of France: the forge. Their alliance is expressed through the creation of a range of handcrafted knives, fitted with leather sheaths and stamped “L'Âme de la Fure”.
To bring this heritage project to life, these craftsmen chose to set up shop in an 18th-century forge in Charavines, north of the Isère capital. The site is steeped in the valley's metallurgical history, which began in the Middle Ages.
Jean-François Blouzard (blacksmith) and Martial Matsoukos (industrial mechanic, workshop manager) create objects that are both useful and aesthetic, combining two materials characteristic of this region: steel and leather.
