A true "Proustian madeleine" for many families, Antésite was born out of the determination of one man, Noël Perrot-Berton, a pharmacist in Voiron, to combat alcoholism among railroad workers on construction sites during heat waves. Feeling a sense of public health duty, the pharmacist created the famous licorice concentrate in 1898.
