Caveau du lac St André - Musée du vigneron, 39, route d'Apremont - Hameau de St André, Les Marches, 73800 Les Marches
In this wine cellar situated in the heart of the Savoyard vineyards, discover a collection of 16th-century tools for vine maintenance and wine production, following the evolution of vineyards and the wine making.
In the heart of the ‘Apremont’ designation of origin, explore this unique museum-vault, the home of over 5 centuries of wine-making tradition. Traditional, unexpected, rare (a veteran tractor from 1918, one of only 150 made!) and even unique (‘square’ cask, the mad idea of the cooper!), the old tools used by our ancestors continue to reveal the secrets of white, red and rosé wine production on the family estate. Wines from the oldest vines in the Savoie are going organic: unexpectedly echoing the past, the techniques of yesteryear are being used for the wine production of tomorrow… Wine-tasting courses are available for the public, private groups, students and professionals. Weekly activities, themed evening events, tailored activities for groups and families, travelling lectures, sensory walks, and more! The Musée du Vigneron is well and truly looking towards the future.
